How Rogers Turned a FIFA Watch Party into the Event Everyone Was Talking About

Cosmo produced 193 personalized AI trading cards for Rogers’ Team Canada FIFA watch party, creating a premium branded keepsake that drove strong guest engagement and meaningful sponsor conversations.

Custom AI Trading Card Experience

Nearly 200 guests gathered at CRAFT on Vancouver’s waterfront to cheer on Team Canada. With viewing areas located both indoors and outdoors, the activation was positioned at the base of the main staircase, allowing it to naturally reach guests as they moved throughout the venue. Guests entered their name, created a custom nickname and posed for a quick photograph. AI then transformed each person into a professional soccer player in a realistic stadium environment, complete with a Rogers-branded Team Canada jersey. Each personalized design featured the guest’s name in clean white typography and their nickname in custom gold script. Digital versions were delivered instantly, while our production team printed and assembled every physical trading card by hand. The finished cards were placed inside premium magnetic collector cases and completed with a custom holographic Rogers seal, turning the experience into a keepsake guests were excited to show, share and take home.

Creating Meaningful Sponsor Engagement

Every part of the experience was designed within Rogers’ branding guidelines. The booth was wrapped in Ascend branding, while the welcome screen, guest interface and custom gold action buttons reflected the theme of the event.

Rogers’ branding was incorporated naturally into the AI artwork, while Ascend’s branding appeared prominently on the printed collector cards. Rather than simply displaying logos, the brands became part of the experience itself.

As guests waited for their finished cards, our team explained the process, built excitement and kept the activation moving. Many guests returned with friends and colleagues after collecting their card, creating even more participation throughout the event.

The activation also gave the Ascend team an easy and natural way to connect with attendees. Guests were excited to show off their cards, creating genuine conversations without the need for a traditional promotional pitch.

Over four hours, Cosmo produced 193 custom trading cards while simultaneously delivering digital versions to guests. Although the average production time was approximately ten minutes, guests who needed to leave early could often receive their completed card in under five minutes.
